David Friedler, LMHC

My Approach and Practice

As a psychotherapist, I am continually committed to providing a safe and supportive experience for my clients. My approach is to help people address interpersonal, relational and career challenges which may be undermining their personal growth or sense of well being. In therapy you are welcomed to explore new ways to manage the obstacles to your full actualization as a person.

My background is founded in Humanistic and Buddhist Psychology. In addition to traditional counseling and psychodynamic approaches I may use Cognitive Therapy or Mindfulness Based Therapies to suit individual needs. Couples are encouraged to understand the roles they assume in the relationship and barriers to trust and intimacy.

My clinical work includes people from a broad diversity of ages, backgrounds and problems.  I am particularly sensitive to the lives of Gay Bisexual and Lesbian young adults and work with individuals and couples

Referrals are welcome from individuals, case managers and other helping professionals in the community. You can learn more about me in Psychology Today
